The Caretaker Festival is an annual three-day celebration held in Glimmering Port as part of a tradition first begun by the civilians of Glimmering Port and quickly picked up by the leadership of the Custodian Guild. The festival is officially left unnamed as a matter of tradition, but is unofficially referred to in honor of the Caretakers.
The first Caretaker Festival is said to have been an unplanned celebration organized by the early civilians of Glimmering Port shortly after the town’s founding. According to folk tradition, the Caretakers themselves not only approved of but paid for the event in full. The Caretaker Festival proceeded to become a yearly tradition on the part of the Custodian Guild, intended to show the Guild leadership’s appreciation for the hard work of the civilians. Countless years later, the tradition is still ongoing.
The Festival is greatly important for the local economy of Glimmering Port. Over the course of living memory, knowledge of the festival has spread across the world and independent teams and tourists from across the continents come to Glimmering Port in order to partake in the festivities.
